“…don’t even see HYBE idols as people…”
A viral post seemingly criticizing both HYBE and its idols has sparked a heated debate about netizens’ treatment of the company’s stars.
Recently, a clip of LE SSERAFIM‘s Sakura crying while having vocal lessons has been brought back and is going viral.
Yet, one of the quotes sparked a heated debate about the treatment of HYBE idols. In the tweet, it claimed that HYBE was selling “struggle, tears, and drama,” showing a compilation of pictures of idols from HYBE crying or showing their vulnerable sides in documentaries or videos. The OP claimed that it was a strategy and that HYBE is profiting from the “private, fragile moments” of the idols.

When I pointed out how cruel Hype was for choosing to put their idols in embarrassing situations to inspire pity, the idols’ fans sided with Hype, which leads me to believe that everyone in this the industry is sadistic.

The tweet quickly garnered a lot of attention with over 11,000 likes.
Yet, many hit back at the tweets against HYBE and the idols, with some explaining that there are always double standards with idols from the company and that it shouldn’t be seen as negative when stars are showing their emotions.

The only reason yall make these theories is to wash your own hands off guilt and self douching. If seeing idols being human and sad makes you uncomfortable, ask yourself why is that https://t.co/Shhq20kewU

Y’all hate when when people don’t view idols as artists but just manufactured people in a company but then get angry when the said company lets their idols show their vulnerable moments which shows that idols are just as human with feelings? https://t.co/M0J6u8T15l pic.twitter.com/sCxodw57zf

Even on Reddit, netizens couldn’t believe the tweet, believing that netizens didn’t see HYBE idols as humans, using everything they do to try and criticize the company.
It’s concerning how kpop fans don’t see hybe idols as humans anymore
