At the 2025 League of Legends World Championship (Worlds), Iris Feng renowned Chinese host and interpreter for the LPL (League of Legends Pro League) captivated both the audience and online communities with her striking stage presence and fluent command of English and Korean.

Iris played a central role in hosting during the Swiss Stage on Days 3 and 4 in Beijing, followed by the knockout rounds in Shanghai. With her confident demeanor and boundless energy, she stood out while interacting with players from around the world. Fans lauded her for her ability to energize the crowd and communicate warmly with the pros. Iris also confirmed her role as stage host for the grand finals on November 9, held in Chengdu.

For long-time League of Legends fans, Iris is no stranger. Born in 1996, she has been immersed in the game for over eight years. She joined the LPL in 2017, initially working behind the scenes as an interpreter and content coordinator. Her big break came in 2020 when she was honored as Best Young MC at the LPL Awards, marking a significant turning point in her career.

Worlds 2025 provided Iris with a grand platform to showcase her full potential. Her polished multilingual hosting, engaging style, and emotional intelligence on stage further cemented her reputation as a leading face in eSports broadcasting.

Interestingly, Iris once had no intention of entering the eSports world. She originally studied bilingual broadcasting and never considered hosting gaming events until a chance internship with the LPL during her third year of university in 2017 changed everything. Witnessing over 40,000 fans cheer at the Beijing National Stadium during the iconic SSG vs. SKT finals sparked her deep love for the profession.

Transitioning from backstage to center stage wasn’t without challenges. Iris admitted that, despite her background in radio, live interactions on stage brought unpredictable moments. Even now, she confesses to still feeling nervous before stepping into the spotlight.

One of the most defining milestones in her journey was the 2018 World Championship, where she was asked to host on extremely short notice. “After that show, my legs were numb,” she recalled. Her effortless code-switching between Mandarin, English, and Korean stunned audiences and solidified her rise in the international scene.
Passion continues to drive Iris forward. “Being able to talk to people from all over the world and hear their stories it’s such a romantic experience,” she reflected.
As eSports grows ever more global, Iris Feng’s presence symbolizes a new era of international hosts who can connect cultures, players, and fans through not just language, but empathy and shared love for the game.
