During a recent appearance on the YouTube channel ‘DdeunDdeun’, Lee Hyo-ri spoke warmly about the people she is grateful for, including IU.
The episode, titled “Couple Appearance is Just an Excuse”, featured Lee Hyo-ri and her husband Lee Sang-soon, along with celebrity couples Hong Hyun-hee and J-Seun. The conversation turned to the topic of gift-giving during holidays like Chuseok.
“A friend of mine has a mango farm in Jeju. Every year, I buy almost all the mangos and give them to people I’m thankful for. Those I want to take care of more come first. And there are people I know can buy it themselves,” Lee Hyo-ri explained.
She then highlighted the friends who have truly cared for her. “There aren’t many people who genuinely take care of me. But those who do are Jae-seok oppa, Hyun-hee, and IU. Even small gestures of care mean so much,” she said.

In the past, rumors of a feud between Lee Hyo-ri and IU circulated online. The speculation started after their appearance on the JTBC reality show ‘Hyo-ri’s Homestay’ in 2017. Despite showing close chemistry on the show, little interaction between them had been publicly known since, and their social media accounts reportedly did not follow each other, fueling public curiosity.
Lee Hyo-ri’s recent statement seems to put the rumors to rest, confirming that her relationship with IU is one of friendship and mutual care.
Lee Hyo-ri’s acknowledgment of IU as someone who takes care of her underscores the reality behind the past speculation. In the world of K-pop and entertainment, where rumors often spread quickly, this moment highlights genuine connections beyond public perception.
