Congrats to all the nominees!
On November 7, the nominees for the 68th Annual GRAMMY Awards were announced across all of the categories.

This year, BLACKPINK‘s Rosé‘s “APT.” featuring Bruno Mars and “Golden” by HUNTR/X: EJAE, Audrey Nuna, REI AMI, were announced as nominees for the Best Pop/Duo Group Performance. Though they are not K-Pop, KATSEYE’s nomination in this category also made history, with member Sophia being the first Filipina to be nominated in the category.
With these nominations, BLACKPINK’s Rosé became the first song by any Korean soloist to receive a nomination in this category, while the first female act distinction is technically shared with HUNTR/X: EJAE, Audrey Nuna, REI AMI.

Rosé and HUNTR/X: EJAE, Audrey Nuna, REI AMI also received nominations for these tracks in one of the biggest categories of the awards show, “Song Of The Year.” Rosé becomes the first Korean soloist ever to receive a nomination in the category, while the first act in general is shared between the two acts.
In the “Record of the Year” category, Rosé also snagged a nomination for APT., making her the first Korean soloist and first Korean act in general ever to receive a nomination.

“Golden” was also nominated for “Best Song Written for Visual Media,” tying the number of nominations with Rosé. However, EJAE technically could become the most nominated female Korean artist, based on her contributions to the K-Pop Demon Hunters soundtrack, which was nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.

Amid these history-making nominations, many also claimed that several K-Pop acts were snubbed by the awards show.
BLACKPINK as a group, along with Jennie and Lisa, were brought up after the nominations were revealed as being snubbed.
mind you blackpink were snubbed by the grammys for years despite them proving time and time again that they were here to stay but somehybe a group that it’s barely a year old, doesn’t have a single hit song on its belt and hasn’t proven any sort of impact somehow got nominated

Still, this awards show is looking to be a big night for K-Pop artists, and many have reacted with pride to the news.
